The Vargshroom in this update is using the coal model, so it just looks like a black lump. The physics and even the on-use sound are all the same but the model is coal, probably some sort of default placeholder model. Plz fix I want my fecalfunny man back.
Update: Spawning it in Sandbox comes with the proper model, but buying it from the store seems to result in what I said above.
Update 2: For whatever reason, putting it in your inventory turns it into coal in all aspects save the "Use" command still being present. Also once the drone delivers it, the correct model is displayed for a moment before it changes.
Update 3: Turns out if you grab it before it changes model it'll function normally after you drop it. You don't have to put it in your inventory, just hold it in your hand. This will hopefully circumvent the bug until it gets fixed.
So I got this weird bug, when I can't download a signal from the satellite I found. Both of my filters are at 100, but efficiency just stays at 0. All of my servers are working and calibrated. It also happens ONLY with a satellites, every other signal downloading just fine.

I thought that was a funny version of the game.. that or you did something you shouldn't.. like turning a bunch of arg.. I forgot their names.. into melted.. arg..whatever's.. and getting brutally (but deserved) assaulted by a squad of bigger arg.. you get the gist..
I just noticed the switch on the processing console that says "Upgrade Auto Processing to use". Did the dev add a toggle for that? Because if so awesome!
I cant express how much joy i have gotten from this game. I love how its a sim game with plenty of busy work and has stuff to actually work towards and buy. All While also experiencing an occasional cool and spooky event.I look forwards to seeing this get worked on.

Meh, truthfully Signal Simulator always had the better atmosphere and scare factor. VotV is more enjoyable to play since there's more interactivity. You have to be looking at third party sources for information on the arirals anyways. I feel like people are blowing it out of proporation because muh furries.
I should clarify third party means outside the game. I can't remember if the game explicitly tells you the name 'ariral' outside of sandbox, I only found it from the wiki.
I don't use Twitter nor am I on the Discord so I don't know what the dev is posting.
Looking up the developers' Discord and Twitter for information on a game you're interested in these days is incredibly natural. I'd consider the developer himself a first party source, frankly.
I watched Joel play Signal sim and I honestly thought it looked a little worse, I still considered picking it up but the dev has abandoned the game I decided to pass on it
But as for VOTV, Can't really talk about it since big spoilers aren't allowed in the comments but there is stuff in game that shows what they look like and they are very clearly meant to be cute and not scary, and joining the discord kinda just reinforces that, Don't get me wrong, I have nothing wrong with furries, I AM a furry and I'm very much an advocate for non-human races in games, especially playable ones but only where they fit and in a game like this, I feel like they just don't really fit as the game starts off as "Things from space beyond your comprehension taking notice that you are looking for them" but by the end turns in to "Hehe cute alien" once again, can't go in to more detail about it but by day 34 I was completely and utterly uninterested in the story anymore and while my retention to the story is a matter of opinion, I think most people would agree that game stops being scary by that point.
nah the ariral aliens are cool ! and you dont learn a whole lot about them yet in game. its really neat to slowly get into on an alien race. keep playing though, if you wanna see different aliens who are more creepy !
I played the game for a week and got to day 34 so I've seen a lot of the creepy stuff, like I said, this game scared me more than most other horror games have but the later days of the story really focus hard on Arirals which I'm just not a fan of so I lost interest, I do plan on continuing and trying to beat the game after my break from it, if there is an ending yet but maybe I'll have a better time infinite mode since Arirals seem to be story exclusive from what I've read in the discord
And like I said in a reply I made to someone else, being a furry myself and seeing the discord, I just can't help but feel like they are an out of place furry insert and just to be clear since I've been getting a ton of down votes from people, I do really like this game, I wouldn't even be making these comments of I didn't feel as passionate about this game as I do, I just wish it was more thematically consistent

In the newest version I took some pictures with the digital camera. I saved the game, exited, came back later, and now all the photos on the in-game PC are just white circles. I tried saving the photos to my hard-drive or whatever, but I dunno where those photos are stored.
Hello, I can't set custom pictures for my picture frames. I did everything according to the instructions, put the images in the correct folders and converted them to PNG from JPG. However nothing happens when I try to use the picture frames.
My kerfus has found a spot outside in front of the door and is aggressively trying to dig with it's wheels and refuses to go fix the very broken servers.. I need a kerfus doctor to undumb my kerfus and YES I've turned it off and on again.. YES I threw it off the radio mast.. YES I gave it a bath.. YES I gave it pats and asked nicely and no it hasn't stopped digging.. if it helps it's a red kerfus.. maybe I bought a kerfus meant for digging? maybe I should try to get it to dig somewhere that might have stuff?.. I don't know.. pls help
I FOUND OUT.. they have to go to a specific server.. I had India and Juliett down.. India didn't fix kerfus but dragging it from India to the neighboring Juliett worked.. they were assaulting me in affection the second they fixed the server

Hi, I started new game and when I try to do first mission with hashes, I am not able to pull any. I tried base console and satellite console, I typed "sv.hash bravo" and I received ">Cannot access to the sattelite" or if I type only "sv.hash" to the satellite console I receive only ">Hashcode" and that is all. Can you please help me? Thanks
When I first started, I was thinking the same thing as you. But what you actually have to do is, drive to the satellite that you need to get the hash from, and type in sv.hash at that satellite.
For example if you need a hash from Bravo. Then you must go to satellite Bravo, then go to the computer, then type in "sv.hash". Then you'll get the code for it.
Edit: Yeah the >Hashcode you get from it afterwards, you just type it in on the paper. There's templates on the side that you can click on, click on the reports template. That will help you fill in on where to put that code.

GREAT game. Only game i've been playing for awhile now too lol. Only issue is that it makes my pc get hot. Like REALLY hot. I think it might be an issue with my pc, but i find it strange that its happening with this game, as it doesnt seem like it would be that resource intense.
It might be for the most part that the game isn't optimized. They aren't focusing on optimizing the game right now, so that might be why it get's super hot.
While it's not resource intensive, for the most part. It is still a demo that they're trying to put together with content and bug fixes first.
Does anyone know what to do if the game's folder isn't in appdata? I want to use the tv but i can't find the folder to put the videos in. Any ideas where it can be located or a way to fix this?
Edit: Managed to find a solution in 10 minutes from making this comment which is pretty funny.
Basically just put: "C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\VotV\Assets" (Replace "User" with your computer name) and it should take you to the assets folder so you can add your stuff!
(I'm also not sure if some people use / instead of \ on their computers so theres that confusion now....).
I'm facing a problem that won't let me go past the tutorial, when I finish the tutorial it won't let me enter story mode even after I've completed the tutorial, can anyone help me with this?

"d060 has a bug and it doesnt save the tutorial achievement automatically, to fix this issue - launch the tutorial, wait for the achievement, pause the game, go to settings and click Apply. This issue will be fixed asap."
Every time send the daily task thing everything is alright. What i mean by that is i get an email with how many points i get and stuff. But every other email i get with usefull information about the singals i´ve send away doesnt contain any Text?!?! Does anyone know how to solve that?
I can't get the hook in 0.6.0. It doesn't come in the delivery box. If I order the hook and nothing else, the box just drops empty. I've been trying not to get spoiled so I don't know but I'm guessing there is stuff I can't do without it.
A small issue that doesn't detract from the experience much, but I can't get the assets folder to work. I've seen two more comments about it, but with no conclusions.
The folder just isn't being created where it should be. I tried a few things to make it work:
- First I just deleted the entire VotV folder from appdata/local and launched the game. A new folder was created but it still lacked the assets folder.
- Then I created the folders myself with the proper structure as specified in the help section. However the game still didn't load any assets I placed there.
I am frankly out of ideas, but it's not like it breaks the experience or anything, I am just unable to have my custom paintings around. And I really would want to try out the printer as well.
not sure if this will help, but ive found that most people who already had the game installed from previous updates haven't had a problem with the %appdata% --> local --> Votv folder stuff. so maybe if you install and play the game once on an old version, then download the new one, it might work ? dunno.
Does anyone know how to fix the lights at the satellite dishes being turned off after a power outage? After my first power outage all the lights in each satellite dish turns off and I can't find any sort of light switch or terminal command to fix it.
Am I blind and missing something or is this not intentional?
guys i got a problem. the game doesn't contain any of my saves, forces me to play on tutorial, sets all of my settings to 0, will not let me play on previous saves, has the screen to be 3 stretched pixels permanently.
did i do something wrong? i have deleted the game and reinstalled the files several times, it even will not let me play previous iterations, it has no sound and the main menu is heavily pixelated. what do i do?
It happened to me, but i had saves in my VotV folder. Delete data.sav in Appdata/Local/VotV/Saved/SaveGames and all should work, but you need to replay tutorial.
This game is really something else, i'm obsessed with it!
however i need help, i've been stuck in a power outage for a full day now; the power station with the switches is off and has no lights, the machines are all lit up except for the screens (pc and radar are still on though) and the lock on the doors are down. The generator outside that has 3 green lights, has one of them gone red and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm supposed to do :'( halp also a vent broke.
Are power outages tied to difficulty? I know they're to make us go outside more, probably at night, but I've had it happen 3 times in a row and haven't been able to do much else other than run out to restart the generator. It's just a bit excessive and keeps disrupting trying to get signals.
Not sure if I'm unlucky or missing something or just dumb if there's a way to prevent it which is also very possible.
Did you always press the button twice? Once only turn it back on, the 2nd is to give it the full cycles. If you only been pressing it once then it would make sense why you can't get anything done.
all good, fixed it. with the power off i couldnt find the third one and turns out i was running back and forth between 2 of them xD thanks for the help
Well im soft locked from unlocking sandbox mode due to the buggy state the game has fallen into, kerfus straight dissapeared the day i got him, camera was disabled, (no he wasn't stolen by *****
Game froze on the 18th day and i had to reset events and props, loosing all of the items i've collected (including maxwell and other kerfus)
Just kinda irritated is all, still love the game, just needs tweaks, I don't want this to fail
But now its Day 32 and now i still haven't unlocked sandbox
A suggestion for a future update: Make the difficulty settings a bit more dynamic. Enable separate sliders for minutes-per-day, stat drain, task difficulty, etc. I'd love just more time in the day, but everything else I'd like to be the same as the default normal.
So I've been playing the game for the last few days, and have a small issue.
I seem to be unable to upgrade/process signals.
In the in-game help menu, it says that upgrading computer power at least once is required to start doing this, but I have multiple levels in computer power and yet every time I import a lvl.0 file to the rightmost console and press the green button, I get a buzzer sound effect.
At this point I'm at game day 6 and can only mail out level 0 signals meaning less point return and very slow progression.
Is the signal processing aspect a thing that is scripted and unlocks on 'Day X' but I just haven't gotten there yet, or is this a bug? I have found some really neat sounding ones, maybe static maybe not, but without the option to process or refine them I don't know what's good vs what's nothing.
I wish the scroll wheel worked in menus to, you know, scroll through them.
That, or put the two computer related items near each other like other such items on the list, such as the sensor speed/size, the ping speed/size, etc..
It would also be nice with the new system if pressing the number key would activate that menu option instead of just scrolling to it and requiring you to also press E to activate that option.
I'm having a really weird bug where every time I try to start a game after it loads it just forces itself into a lower resolution and freezes itself. It updates when I alt tab out of the game but when I try to go back into it it freezes again. I can still move the character and interact with the menu but the visual is frozen. It's really weird.
I'm having this same issue, tried redownloading the game and that didn't fix. have no idea what could be causing it since the game runs perfectly fine but only when I'm tabbed out so its not a hardware issue
I'm having trouble getting the TV to play some files. Is there any more information about what codecs work? I tried to convert some H265 .mkvs to .mp4 with ffmpeg but they won't play.
I haven't bothered with any conversions, but I've noticed right away that the TV doesn't play .webm files where it it did in 0.5.X. It didn't play .mkv files at all either before.
The online video functionality could use some explanation. I'm assuming you put links in the online.txt in the tv assests folder?
I tried to get it working again earlier. This time I took a H264 mkv and converted it to mp4 and it wouldn't play at all. It would say success when I selected the file but wouldn't play, if I opened the TV menu again and tried again, the game locked up. It was a ~30 minute file. I thought maybe it wouldn't play H265 files but after this I have no idea what works.

The photos are located in your VotV game folder.
The file path is going to look something like this:
(Whatever folder)\VotV\060_0010\WindowsNoEditor\VotV\photos
All of your saved photos should be there.

T - 98x128
S - 192x192
H - 160x128

I was able to fix my Kerfus by taking him to a broken server and having him fix it on the spot.
It probably has to be the *only* broken server you have at that time.
Afterwards, he worked fine for me. Sometimes he did break again, but I fixed him again by just taking him to the broken server and having him fix it.
There was 3 at the time of error.. does any work or do I have to drag goober cat to each server till he stops being interested in digging-
I haven't tried that yet, so I don't know. You should give it a try and see what happens and let us know.

I know everything got migrated to appdata but even after trying to set it all up it ain't working
there was no Assets folder in the C:/User/UserName/AppData/Local/VotV/
I have my game on a diferent hard disk than the one where the appdata is located and I'd much rather keep it that way
My friend seem to not have this issue so I'm very confused :/
beside that I realy like this update, some of the event feel even scarier now or very pretty too , kind of amazed by some of thoses.
I really hope this game get more eyes on it because this is what most of modern ambiance horror should aim to be, I think.
I'm facing a problem that won't let me go past the tutorial, when I finish the tutorial it won't let me enter story mode even after I've completed the tutorial, can anyone help me with this?

They have the solution to this bug at the top of this page, I'll paste it here.
"d060 has a bug and it doesnt save the tutorial achievement automatically, to fix this issue - launch the tutorial, wait for the achievement, pause the game, go to settings and click Apply. This issue will be fixed asap."

I got a problem with the emails:
Every time send the daily task thing everything is alright. What i mean by that is i get an email with how many points i get and stuff. But every other email i get with usefull information about the singals i´ve send away doesnt contain any Text?!?! Does anyone know how to solve that?
I can't get the hook in 0.6.0. It doesn't come in the delivery box. If I order the hook and nothing else, the box just drops empty. I've been trying not to get spoiled so I don't know but I'm guessing there is stuff I can't do without it.

A small issue that doesn't detract from the experience much, but I can't get the assets folder to work.
I've seen two more comments about it, but with no conclusions.
The folder just isn't being created where it should be.
I tried a few things to make it work:
- First I just deleted the entire VotV folder from appdata/local and launched the game.
A new folder was created but it still lacked the assets folder.
- Then I created the folders myself with the proper structure as specified in the help section.
However the game still didn't load any assets I placed there.
I am frankly out of ideas, but it's not like it breaks the experience or anything, I am just unable to have my custom paintings around.
And I really would want to try out the printer as well.
not sure if this will help, but ive found that most people who already had the game installed from previous updates haven't had a problem with the %appdata% --> local --> Votv folder stuff. so maybe if you install and play the game once on an old version, then download the new one, it might work ? dunno.
Oh I did play the game a lot on the old versions, mainly 0.4 and a bit on 0.5.

Does anyone know how to fix the lights at the satellite dishes being turned off after a power outage? After my first power outage all the lights in each satellite dish turns off and I can't find any sort of light switch or terminal command to fix it.
Am I blind and missing something or is this not intentional?
As of right now no way to turn the satellite lights back on.

guys i got a problem. the game doesn't contain any of my saves, forces me to play on tutorial, sets all of my settings to 0, will not let me play on previous saves, has the screen to be 3 stretched pixels permanently.
did i do something wrong? i have deleted the game and reinstalled the files several times, it even will not let me play previous iterations, it has no sound and the main menu is heavily pixelated. what do i do?
sounds really weird, i would suggest you go into your appdata files and delete the entire votv folder for a fresh start, its worth a shot i think
It happened to me, but i had saves in my VotV folder. Delete data.sav in Appdata/Local/VotV/Saved/SaveGames and all should work, but you need to replay tutorial.

This game is really something else, i'm obsessed with it!
however i need help, i've been stuck in a power outage for a full day now; the power station with the switches is off and has no lights, the machines are all lit up except for the screens (pc and radar are still on though) and the lock on the doors are down. The generator outside that has 3 green lights, has one of them gone red and I cannot for the life of me figure out what I'm supposed to do :'( halp also a vent broke.
Follow the powerlines and you will find smaller generators connected to the big one.
Are power outages tied to difficulty? I know they're to make us go outside more, probably at night, but I've had it happen 3 times in a row and haven't been able to do much else other than run out to restart the generator. It's just a bit excessive and keeps disrupting trying to get signals.
Not sure if I'm unlucky or missing something or just dumb if there's a way to prevent it which is also very possible.
Did you always press the button twice? Once only turn it back on, the 2nd is to give it the full cycles. If you only been pressing it once then it would make sense why you can't get anything done.

You have to activate the disables transformers, follow the powerlines to find them.

Well im soft locked from unlocking sandbox mode due to the buggy state the game has fallen into, kerfus straight dissapeared the day i got him, camera was disabled, (no he wasn't stolen by *****
Game froze on the 18th day and i had to reset events and props, loosing all of the items i've collected (including maxwell and other kerfus)
Just kinda irritated is all, still love the game, just needs tweaks, I don't want this to fail
But now its Day 32 and now i still haven't unlocked sandbox

A suggestion for a future update: Make the difficulty settings a bit more dynamic. Enable separate sliders for minutes-per-day, stat drain, task difficulty, etc. I'd love just more time in the day, but everything else I'd like to be the same as the default normal.
So I've been playing the game for the last few days, and have a small issue.
I seem to be unable to upgrade/process signals.
In the in-game help menu, it says that upgrading computer power at least once is required to start doing this, but I have multiple levels in computer power and yet every time I import a lvl.0 file to the rightmost console and press the green button, I get a buzzer sound effect.
At this point I'm at game day 6 and can only mail out level 0 signals meaning less point return and very slow progression.
Is the signal processing aspect a thing that is scripted and unlocks on 'Day X' but I just haven't gotten there yet, or is this a bug? I have found some really neat sounding ones, maybe static maybe not, but without the option to process or refine them I don't know what's good vs what's nothing.
Please advise.
You need to upgrade computer level, not computer power.
The upgrade can be bought at the bottom of the list and it costs 40 points per upgrade and it goes up to level 3.

I wish the scroll wheel worked in menus to, you know, scroll through them.
That, or put the two computer related items near each other like other such items on the list, such as the sensor speed/size, the ping speed/size, etc..

any way to change to the old "use" system? i find the old one to be quicker and simpler to use
It would also be nice with the new system if pressing the number key would activate that menu option instead of just scrolling to it and requiring you to also press E to activate that option.
I'm having a really weird bug where every time I try to start a game after it loads it just forces itself into a lower resolution and freezes itself. It updates when I alt tab out of the game but when I try to go back into it it freezes again. I can still move the character and interact with the menu but the visual is frozen. It's really weird.
I'm having this same issue, tried redownloading the game and that didn't fix. have no idea what could be causing it since the game runs perfectly fine but only when I'm tabbed out so its not a hardware issue
I'm having trouble getting the TV to play some files. Is there any more information about what codecs work? I tried to convert some H265 .mkvs to .mp4 with ffmpeg but they won't play.
I'm wondering about this as well.
I haven't bothered with any conversions, but I've noticed right away that the TV doesn't play .webm files where it it did in 0.5.X. It didn't play .mkv files at all either before.
The online video functionality could use some explanation. I'm assuming you put links in the online.txt in the tv assests folder?
I tried to get it working again earlier. This time I took a H264 mkv and converted it to mp4 and it wouldn't play at all. It would say success when I selected the file but wouldn't play, if I opened the TV menu again and tried again, the game locked up. It was a ~30 minute file. I thought maybe it wouldn't play H265 files but after this I have no idea what works.
