Hi I'm having some issues. When I go onto the tutorial I only get a black screen. The HUD is still there, same as the noise. Does anyone know how to fix it?
Quick question, how do you drop stuff you are holding without putting it into your inventory first then clicking the drop button? Also I was wondering about the T.V. that I see people have was wondering if that is a spawn menu item or just a normal item you can find in the game.

I got some more I would've liked to know -objects in the mailbox are preserved when resetting objects and events on a save -you can use sv.target vehicle to target the ATV -dragging sound/music-creating easter eggs without grabbing/holding them directly (get creative, there's easy and hard ways) will keep the sound active -the claw hammer works for nails if the nail itself is struck -crouching while walking into an object makes it far easier to push it, especially heavy objects like the fridge, shelves, and heavy duty tables -copied signals can be refined to the next level and become valid for sending back to base again (and so each signal can be sold up to 4 times, if you so desired) -easier difficulty makes time pass slower, along with stamina and food drain, but reduces daily task work and thus pay; harder speeds up time and stat drain, but you get larger and higher paying daily jobs
For some reason my game just booted with no sound and like this? I have no idea how its gonna look in-game but this never happend before. Perhaps a day triggered special event? EDIT: 1 SECOND AFTER POSTING THIS AND I CAN'T SELECT THE OTHERS MODES BUT TURTORIAL?
Edit 2: The reason this happend was because my power went out monday and i think the game did not like getting closed like that? So if you possibly just get a bluescreen while playing or your computer shut off. you'll have to save every file you want to keep (saves and tv, and all) and delete the votv folder in #localappdata#, aka reinstalling the game fully.
your save file might be corrupted, i had this happen to to me. unfortunately it wipes your progress. you have to go to the games local app data and remove the file. i'm so sorry this happened to you.
i downloaded this game last night and it worked fine through the tutorial and ~5 mins of my first story mode save but then my computer overheated and shut down. i tried running it again today but the data had reset and when i loaded a tutorial it just showed a black screen. in the menu, all of the settings are set to the minimum value (all sliders are to the left, etc etc) and keybinds shows up as a blank screen. resetting them works inside the menu but apply doesn't, and if i leave and reopen the menu they're all back to the minimum values. no matter how many times i redownload it stays like that. i've tried restarting my pc and updating my gpu driver but idk what else to do. i really wanna play this game :( anyone know a possible fix for this? i'm on windows 10.

I wish that there a other mode like an endless mode once the month version is done. I mean sandbox is cool and all it's just another start from scratch or using your 31 day save and get an email that asks the player if you want job and promotion with better pay for each 2 months there.
They could possibly do it in later version or put this on a board of ideas or something I don't know.
?? There is an infinite mode, what are you talking about? The days dont stop coming and the game doesn't end, unless you get an end event. but there's a way to avoid all of those.
the game will certainly have more days/events/things to do, but endless mode is automatic after reaching the end of story mode- likewise, starting in endless mode just make story happen randomly and slower and otherwise the game is the same, as most events are random to begin with.
My huge respect to the developers of the game, you really made almost the best game that I have played in the last 10 years. I haven’t had so much fun for a long time, I was scared so many times, I was surprised at the mechanics so many times, I’m just in f****g shock that you can make a game “SUCH F****g awesome." I would like to thank you not only with words, but the ability to donate in Russia has been disabled, I will wait for the moment when you appear on playgrounds like steam. After downloading the alien signal event that activated the sirens, i saved right afterwards to see some entities behind my base, then when i reloaded the save the sirens wouldn't stop blaring no matter what i did, so i had to entirely reset the save and lose all my progress.
i hope something is done about it cuz that was kinda upsetting as my first time dealing with it
A few days ago my game blue screened my pc and now when i biot the game up all my settings are defaulted to zero and when i go to change them they dont apply the changes. Im really sad to have an error this fatal. My save data is gone as well. When i load the tutorial im greeted to my hud against a black screen. there's been a shitload of people with seemingly ridiculous corruption/bluescreen issues lately, are you sure you unzipped the game before running/installing??
after the orb event starts, sleeping makes the game run at 2 fps, making it really hard to manage your sleep. i've also noticed that during that sleep the radar seems to loose track of some entities, even if they are stuff like cameras or beacons, decreasing the count by 4, when i have 10 active at all times
Hey I was riding my ATV and flew out because I was hungry, And I think the game saved while I was ragdolling, so when I reloaded my save all of my items in my inventory were deleted. Is this a known issue?

Are you sure they're .mp4's? The game's very picky to the video files. For example, it didn't play 10 bit videos for me until I re-converted them. Try to use an online converter to convert your videos to h264 mp4's.
Sure, H.264 (also known as AVC) is a video compression standard/format, while mp4 is a container. So by "h264 mp4" I was referring to a video compressed with any h264-based encoder and put inside an mp4 container. For example, YouTube ships videos compressed with h264, VP9, or AV1 put inside an mp4 or webm container. Smartphones record in either h264 or h265 format and save in mp4 containers, for another example.
Whatever plugin is used to make the videos for the TV work inside VotV is probably very picky about that format. In other words, if you try to make it play an mp4 file that contains an AV1-encoded video instead of h264, or utilize some non-baseline settings such as 10-bit for an h264 encode, it might not work.
Have you solved it? The easiest way to convert videos would probably be handbrake ( https://handbrake.fr/downloads.php ). Just go to Tools > Preferences > Output Files > MP4 File Extension > Always use MP4. Then drag & drop videos into the HandBrake window, leave everything by default (Preset "Fast 1080p30"), and press "Start Encode". Just in case, the videos should be directly in this folder: C:\Users\{{username}}\AppData\Local\VotV\Assets\tv
hmm im not sure. when i open handbrake it says the video is already h264, and i converted it anyway but it doesnt seem to work still. it still just says loading on the status. am i doing something wrong or do you think something else could be the issue

Hunger is very easy to manage, just stop relying on MREs. Eat different kinds of food.
Complete daily tasks and keep making signals, don't rush to upgrade your computer level or your earnings will be garbage... Focus on something like download speed and server stability instead.

You can't find a code if I remember correctly, but you can buy the password changer to open the door instead. Hope that helps :)

It only removes story related events (which are clearly nice to have though)

Resetting the vehicle position doesn't seem to work anymore after resetting the player stats. Looks like all new saves are affected as well.
I'm not sure but it might be because the ATV counts as an object now, rather than a vehicle.
