hey i found a very annoying glitch. idk what caused it, but the mouse isnt where it is supposed to be on screen where it is. what i mean is if i click on the settings button, it doesnt work. if i click the exit button, it clicks the start button. the actual mouse itself is not aligned with the mouse on screen. the only temporary fix i have found is closing and reopening the game.
So I'm trying to get my game to run faster than 1fps, and this makes the loading screen a slideshow, exposing all the icon names. "Landmine?" A lot of other odd titles... but... I just thought this was interesting...

I just bought the mop from the store and it cleans just fine. Although are you meaning cleaning inside the base or the outside? Don't forget you need to hold the item and left click a water surface and then hold right click to clean. Mop has a MUCH faster cleaning speed and a wider area.
the 300 point one, the 50 point one is actually a broom that you can use to push trash "items" not the piles but like the crumpled paper. And no prob! Not stupid, just didn't know.
That explains a LOT! i didn't know there was a sponge already in the base, so i bought one and the thing doesn't work at all. Now I just found the sponge in the shower and that sponge works like a charm. not sure why they both act differently
The game relies on ambience and unsettling feelings. It's closer to older Resident Evil than say FNAF. If you know what Eternal Darkness is, it's kinda like that with its spooks. They're not a main aspect of play either way though.
Game breaking bug, sorry if this isn't the place for it but no clear location to report bugs. Not sure how it happened- took a save from 0.6.2 through both the hotfix updates, and just now lost the ability to plug in drives while copying signals. 4 copied signals, 3 drives plugged in, uploaded, and unplugged, and now NONE of my drive sockets in my base are working with any drive. Unique ONLY to this save, other saves and tutorial are fine, I'd really like to not reset the world for a 3rd time in a week with the current punishing state resetting objects...
i had that bug once, fixed it by saving and reloading the game, i dont know why it was so persistent for you
not sure what causes the bug, on my end, it happened after i went out to fix some servers and i had a power outage event, then after the reload, everything was perfectly normal again
some object in my base was causing the issue, not sure which one- I stuffed all my things in the mailbox for the reset and the drives started working again- at least I didn't need to reset I guess. Whatever it was even reloading the game did not help so it's an actual issue, might experiment with the broken backup later to see if I can figure out what specifically caused (or fixed? I guess) it.

Tried testing to figure out specifics but no specific item or behavior seemed to be at fault as I could not even reproduce it in the broken backup save which was somehow no longer broken after specifically being saved in a broken state, which is very worrying :|
Thats actually quite weird. If it was the other option the issue would be that: You alt tabbed and alt gets stuck in-game. But this is a completely different thing entirely!
Its very weird coming back to this comment because my drive socket just isn't working anymore. I don't want to reset objects due to omega kerfus and some other stuff that i could possibly have missed since this save file is on day 37, I'll try to see what object could possibly be causing this.
The game is excellent, fun, and really entertaining, but, I'm struggling to avoid the fridge's plug to clip under the base, and, cleaning the base every time I join the game is quite annoying. I'd also like the control room to have more outlets close to each other.
Avoiding that, the game is really fun. I'd like to mention the white ball shaped fungi. Best fungi in the game; it's edible, (hopefully I'm not filling my organs with arsenic) and can also be used as a football. 10/10, would pull one of the ground again.
If you go AppData/Local/VotV/Assets there is a file called res.txt, add your desired resolution there, then launch the game. It worked for me at least.
It falls into the keyboard, but not through it. (Unless this is a different bug.) You can push it out by holding another object and dragging it. May take a moment though.

he probably won't upload this game to steam. His game have alot, i mean, ALOT of stolen assets. So he have 2 choices: delete ALL of the stolen assets (but game will look raw), or just keep it on itch.io.
Valve won't pay attention to that, likely, the Steam bots would pay attention. They can delete your game if it has stolen assets. You can read about that in rules.
usually you only "trip" from high falls, getting hit by something, or if your stamina is too low. it's not really a "rate", there's often a reason for it...Or you just keep hitting the ragdoll button on accident
To access the AppData folder, the easiest way is to press Win + R, type appdata, and click OK.
The music should probably be native .mp3's, I'm not sure if anything like .aac, .opus, or .ogg would work.
The posters (I'm using 512x512 res png's for the square paintings) and movies (h.264 mp4's) for the TV go into "paintings" and "tv" respectfully instead of "radio". It's pretty cool to put some movie or anime on the background while you're working with the signals, the experience gets so much more personal.
Somebody needs to make a game like this but Multiplayer. So somebody can find signals then other person fixes the towers and one last dude on the server room-SamWiseR0bert

I wouldn't like it, no. Would it be less filling? Also no, so it doesn't make sense. I agree there should be something to encourage buying other foods, but this is not the way.
This shouldn't be the way, but it's probably easier than adding some type of sanity meter to the game. This makes the same amount of sense as coffee in the game automatically making you less sleepy, instead of just making you not sleep, or disables the effects of being tired.
There's an exploit that allows you to make thousands of credits with a tiny amount of work and some already existing credits.
First buy a woodchipper and some garbage bags. Break all of the supply boxes at base and collect their wood splinters. Hold a splinter and then alt+left click on the woodchipper, it will place a wooden block into it instead of the splinter. This will produce 10 garbage piles. Each pile sells for 4 credits so it's a 3 credit profit. There's enough splinters at base (not counting the basement or bunker) to make 2100+ credits in a single day. If you go crazy with all of the supply boxes on the map you'll have at least 10k credits.
The blue light tubes are an event, but I'm not so sure the bunker doors opening is intended. I'll have to check but I'm confident that didn't work before. It's possible in that reworking the base the dev made an oversight. This is slightly backed up that while the bunker light is off, you can turn it back on even if the base's light-power is still off. It could be intentional though since the bunker was reworked.
It didnt open like that in previous version, at least for me. And in the pinned screenshot main light switch is turned on, you can see that pin pads are glowing.
amazing game, beacons show up as red on radar with the color upgrade, would also be really nice to be able to recolor beacons, maybe add names to them and have the digital map show player direction.
also would be cool to have a handheld radar like the one in alien.
also i keep randomly getting a message popup saying "i will not go in there"
They can crawl on the fridge, but they won't be able to get in and eat the food. The only way to keep them away from a particular area is with the repellant.
Pictures must be in .png format and name them after numbers, i.e. 1.png, 2.png, 13.png, 435.png.
Also make sure you resize them, don't try to go over 500px, the larger the pictures the more VRAM will be used and the more RAM the game will need while loading up. You can way too easily fill up 8GB VRAM if you don't resize the pictures first.
Use the toggle option on Kerfus to make the cord come out. For the atv, click on your save press reset and a list will appear. Check the vehicle option and press apply. Although I would recommend finding it as it may have disappeared due to an event which is beneficial. I would look on your radar and see where it is
ok, thanks for the Kerfus's advice, but about ATV: i've reset the ATV location and fuel in the saved file setting, but didn't helped. I guess i'll try one more time.
My Kerfus fell through the ground in 6.2.0b, could you please add a failsafe for when it goes out of bounds, as far as 20 units even, so that it will teleport back to base?
Also it gets stuck more often now than in 6.1.0, how about a waypoint system that it moves along while it's in server fixing mode? (and while it pathfinds to the player and then goes back to regular pathfinding mode while within 50 units)

Scratch the bug report.Somehow restarting didn't fix it at first, but it did after a few more times somehow.

there might be a few things that'll startle you, but otherwise there's no in your face screamers
...except in the tutorial, there's a secret ledge you can find and climb up for an easter-egg jumpscare, but its out of the way and easily avoidable

Could you just not put any drives in the socket or get a drive out of it?

get an item box in the shop, its different than the drive box, and stuff them in there. then call the drone

What's the extension of the file you downloaded? If it's .7z, you require 7Zip to unpack it. It's a free unpacker.
A .7z file is exactly like a zip file, just a slightly different way of packing it up.

it helps when you put the fridge plug inside the fridge while you move it, that way it cant glitch through the floor

Found a frustrating bug. Placed my notepad on the keyboard of on of the satellites and it FELL THROUGH and disappeared. Sucks

How do you use the garbage bags? I cant seem to put them in the trash can or collect the piles of trash everywhere with them in hand.

OK real question are there plans to lower the trip rate like I feel it is way to high maybe make it a low chance of falling over?
usually you only "trip" from high falls, getting hit by something, or if your stamina is too low. it's not really a "rate", there's often a reason for it...Or you just keep hitting the ragdoll button on accident

I had the same issue. The wiki's article is outdated. Where the files should actually go is into here:

It doesn't and it seems pretty much everyone hates it.

You can constantly eat only Shrimp microwaved 30 seconds and it'll always give you 90 food.

Bunker opens when the "Lights"-switch is down, that happens during that event and during blackouts.

The fridge no longer keeps food safe, even with the doors proper closed and it plugged in cockraoches will appear and crawl all over it.
They can crawl on the fridge, but they won't be able to get in and eat the food. The only way to keep them away from a particular area is with the repellant.
