Where do you buy or get a garbage bin? I couldn't find anywhere else to throw my garbage away except for the river. I had to take the garbage bin all the way from Transformer 0 to my base.
I put everything into the mailbox including Maxwell and reset events and objects. When i loaded in the base was trashed up and i'm cleaning it, i piled all the trash into the main room and bought trashbags since the starting ones aren't enough.
Here are some tips too!
1- At the start of the game. to clean stuff up don't be ashamed to set the difficulty to EASY++ because you WILL NEED the time to clean it up.
2- Hard++ is the easiest difficulty to get points due to the increased orders. Even if its a bit overwhelming considering 5 hashcodes and the possibility of multiple drive boxes, it will give you the money to waste on your upgrades and funnies.
3- You can still target things if the power is out (may be patched in next update?).
4- If you have a 0.6.1/0.6.2B save you should store everything you have into the mailbox. You can now put Maxwell in your inventory (and Argemwell but you rather not press 4 on that fella anymore.) so you can save him too.
5- Don't be scared to go out at night. I get it that theres the possibility of the wendigo sneaking up on you but only 2 of all the threats can actually kill you.
6- Keep Maxwell and Argemwell in a high place or refrigerate them or else cockroaches will eat them.
when i put 1 tile and other good&bad shit in the mailbox at the 0.6.1 version (or 0.6.0), at the next in-game day there was fucking nothing 💀💀💀💀 i'm glad MrDrNose fixed this.
is the bunker doors supposed to open on day 5? as far as i know those never open on normal gameplay, but here i am, on the inside, woke up with both set of doors open
Holy crap you're right, I swear that didn't work before. And considering how the doors work, the bunker stays open even when the lights get turned back on.
Hey my game isnt functioning properly the mathmini game does not work and the computer does not work it will not let me click on anything or even exit in the math minigame
Edit the pause menu ingame doesent work i cant click on any of the options
I meant to ask, did the music change? I'm not hearing the track I used to whenever a new day began and I really liked it.
Two more things: Did the chance of MREs from supply boxes get lowered because I'm finding way fewer of them. Second is anyone else getting some sort of screen flicker every now and then? The whole game screen will go black for but a split second. (The screen issue was not present on the initial release of 0.6.2aa, only the 0.6.2b.)
As of update 0.6 the game runs noticeably worse while in the main room (it used to be a smooth 60 fps, now around 40). If the shadows are turned off the game goes back to run at a smooth 60, this issue only happens for me in the main room, everywhere else the game runs fine. I would guess this is an issue with the shadows specifically. Hope that you could look into it. Thanks.
Same for me, but keep in mind the update is new and add ALOT, optimisation are (i hope) coming soon.... try to reduce the resolution to 1300x800 (invirrect numbers but i guess you understand) and put everything down except the screen resolution keep it 50+
where can i get the version with the sandbox mode avalible? is it paid? also very cool games, it's literally "gravity falls the game" always something happenning
Was hoping to provide some inspiration for the game in terms of giving it more unnerving/creepy scenarios, features, aspects. If you have the time and haven’t seen these videos already, I definitely recommend giving them a watch. Know for sure they’ll give you some more good ideas for scaring the hell out of the player or at the very least creeping them out.
(One above is about the Hellier case, not the original.)
1: the telescope's controls need to be linked to the movement keys
2: whenever i play the game there's a weird static noise that seems to be coming from my headphones, it might be from my side but it only ever happens when playing this game (and not in the title screen). Thankfully it's quiet enough that I can put a video in the background and I hardly hear it.
3: selling trash give too much money, i got like 200 points on the first day by selling the trash bags you start with and some rocks, it's a nice bonus but maybe a bit much
Am I doing something wrong? The download on each signal is taking forever, the emails keep saying I'm doing the reports wrong even though I'm writing the hash, and I can't keep enough food to not faint every 10 seconds.
So, bit of a long response here, but might be able to help a little.
I would highly recommend getting used to the console commands (in game console not dev console) as they're all invaluable. Each satellite has a chance to break down and require maintenance, you can check which one needs maintenance by going to a console and typing "sv.ping" which will ping all the satellites and tell you which is working and which isn't. The more satellites are down, the slower the download speed, but the satellites can also can also require calibration. To find which satellite needs type "SD.calch" into the console, which will print the calibration levels of each satellite, you want high percentages not low. From here you can either calibrate them individually by typing "sd.cal "target satellite" or by typing "SD.calall" however if any of the satellites require maintenance, it will immediately stop when it reaches it.
You can also upgrade and downgrade systems at anytime. Personally, I prefer to focus on download speed and server stability, which will speed the downloads speeds up, and reduce the chance of a server requiring maintenance which includes the satellites.
finally, I'm assuming you've been only ordering MREs, which have horrible nutrition. I tend to use pizza, as it's about 5 times the food value.
TLDR: satellites need regular maintenance and calibration, also pizza is better than MREs.
I think there’s a glitch where the polarity filter doesn’t get a percentage increase no matter where the angel is. It’s pretty annoying having to reset almost every try to get it to work
Have you tried switching the polarity type with the little knob next to the adjustment dials for the polarity? The three polarity options are left, right, and linear. You gotta check all of them.
Is it my idea or in the new update, the cameras (Good) now have worse quality than in the previous version? Now you can't see anything at night even with the night vision activated, I thought I had bought the worst quality or the medium one but it is the Good one and even so you can't see anything at short or long distance at night...
Would have been nicer if i could control whenever the game is in fullscreen or not, kinda painful playing on fullscreen all the time
There is also a couple of performance issues (maybe consider unloading areas when they dont need to be loaded), but other than that the game looks cool
This Is probably going to sound crazy to anyone who has played the game but... this game kinda reminds me of Stardew Valley. Before this update, I just wanted more stuff to take up my time, and now there's trash and Fishing! (though I can't seem to find how ro Fishing or recycle)
I like picking up trash in my free time and selling it in the item boxes. I'm not quite fond of the idea that I need trash bags for the hundreds of trash piles. So, I just organize them in to tall 4 trash clumps, that I named Ron, Jhon, Don, and Todd. (Tod is the piss yellow paper) There's also Hon who's that weird red clump behind TR_1.
I like Hon.
Also dose anyone else here music when driving the atv?
I don't know how fishing works either. I assume I would need to find a fishing pole just like the shovel / metal detector (You find the shovel, you buy the metal detector, both are used together) Also, music's alright when driving the ATV... until you hear a distinct "throw" sound right behind you despite it being like Day 6.
I like the CONCEPT of the transformers... but I think the execution was a little off... it's really annoying that you HAVE to go out and press a SINGLE button, even when theres a murderous sun or an (non-inhaler) outside otherwise you are plunged into spooky duende time
Been loving the updates, man. I only really have four pieces of input at the moment.
1) I wish there was a way to clean more efficiently. I think the sponge works well as an "introduction" to it, but perhaps there could be something the player could purchase in the store to make it less tedious. Could even have more effective and specific cleaning tools/supplies depending on surface type, i.e. floors, walls, glass, etc.
However I get the feeling, especially with the direction of the recent updates, that you probably have something in mind on the to-do list that addresses this.
2) I like the idea of the radar entity alarm being enabled by default instead of an optional upgrade. This would force players to more readily acknowledge it's existence, especially since it's not conveniently in between the other stations and the garage anymore. A common behavior from myself and the people I watch play the game will often ignore the radar station and will mostly only check it at random while waiting for other stations or until an obvious event is already in effect.
When I upgraded the radar to have the audible entity difference, I definitely paid a lot more attention to it; often wondering what various dots were doing on the map when they were pinged. It even encouraged me to buy several cameras to place around to try to catch what they were.
I think it increases the tension and potential paranoia on the player this way, and makes the radar station more consistent with the others that already have audible alarms of their own. Of course, this may go against your design ethos and how much suspense you want the player to experience. I just think it would be a positive change.
Also, I do like the recent change to make it so that the player can't hear the radar station while sleeping, since it makes the player feel more vulnerable when asleep and also just makes sense given Dr. Kel's physical distance from the radar station.
3) In a somewhat similar vein, I'd like a mute button/volume knob for the downloading station. Or to just make the "NO SIGNAL" beeping noise mute itself. I find it to be kinda annoying. Especially when a signal just finished downloading and I'm trying to listen to it, but there's a persistent beeping noise distracting me that only gets worse and increases in repetition when the station receives upgrades.
4) Finally, a request that will most likely never happen: official controller support. I know to some that it sounds heretical, especially for a Source-esque game like this, but I just don't find keyboards to be very comfortable for playing video games.
I've actually been playing the game with controller this whole time via Steam Input, only switching to keyboard to type in the console or to write reports. I've mapped every function to it, even within the game's lack of contextual controls. But there are several ways this could be improved with official support, even if the player were still forced to type using the keyboard.
It's a pipe dream, and even if it's something that is planned, I understand it would likely not be a priority. But it could allow more people to enjoy the game with their preferred input method.
Anyway, thanks for the awesome game and I can't wait for more. Keep it up!
I am literally wading through the refuse of the previous science team. This is a health hazard. I'm surprised there aren't roaches and rats in here! (when will roaches be added?)
I became a slob and found out about the roaches. They are a good source of food. I am not sure if it is the cockroach or the mushroom, but ... this is going to sound crazy.. I think I am seeing things. Need to sleep..
Is it just me, or is the transformer near Romeo (TR_2) draining a lot faster than usual. Like I constantly have to take trips to that specific transformer to reset it. More precise example. It was a rainy night, I decided to check my transformers, TR_2 was at like 24... time to panic drive over there, by then it got down to 21 on the drive over.
I mean, it is probably intentional to screw with the player and incentivize them to go to Romeo (It is no coincidence they added not one, but two incentives to go to that location in specific. Especially when the developer already uses the servers going out as bait to guide you around.)
Its random I think. Sometimes one transformer will TANK, other times they'll go down about evenly. Not totally sure how it works, but there is some level of RNG involved.
I really love the "Place" action in inventory. I had a lot of fun cleaning trash and salvaging items to place into a visually pleasing collection on a table/shelf/fridge. With the diet & cleaning changes, salvaged food feels less useful & cleaning less fun.
An honest opinion about food tolerance. I understand that practically everything is experimental, and that's part of the development, to see what people like & dislike, what works and what doesn't.
While it might be a good mechanic to encourage players to use different types of foods, following this semi-realistic theme of the game, tying it to hunger is not the correct way.
First, the logic. It just doesn't make sense to eat three full-meal MREs and still drop out of consciousness due to hunger an hour later. Or to eat literal poisonous mushrooms while there's a whole fridge packed with MREs.
Another issue is that the game doesn't communicate well about this. I've played the game for a whole day IRL, but I still don't understand how many times my character has to eat one type of meal to become intolerant of it. Another crucial knowledge the game doesn't give is what's the cooldown. How long it takes for the protagonist to be able to eat the same type of food again? Do I have to ditch this type of food completely and wait, or it's safe to take some bites of that MRE while I wait for my noodles to arrive without having the tolerance reset back to 100%? These are small points, but pretty important still.
The way the system might work is by tying it to the sanity mechanic. I haven't played for long enough to know if it's already in the game, but invisible to the player, or not yet there, but even if it's not yet in the current version of the game, there are definitely hints telling that you intend to add it to the game at some point. And food tolerance will suit it just right. I'm thinking about eating stale food in Project Zomboid and raising boredom, but it's eating the same type of food in VotV and lowering the sanity meter.
Also, I'm sure lots would agree that with these "first-line" experimental mechanics that some people might find questionable, having a toggle in the Experimental settings is something that could lower the hate towards the update and improve the feedback flow. Right now, there's only a single toggle for the character's damage. This menu would really welcome a few more toggles.
P.S. And a note about heating food... Like the others already said, what a dude Dr. Kel is to munch on roaches (alright, it's unique and lore-friendly) but refuse to eat even a single bite of his cold noodles when he's starving.
Agree, I understand the experimental tag and wanting to see how things go over with your potential player-base, but forcing it on them is a really bad idea if they don't like it. Like Minecraft, settings for experimental mechanics is a great idea here. If people want to test it and see how it integrates into the game, great! If they end up not liking it they can voice their reasons why and then turn it off. Forcing it on them just upsets people. Like me, I can't stand the game in this state from the tolerance mechanic to the base literally being a garbage dump.
I feel like a decent way to keep food tolerance is to a have an info notification (Like the "I don't want to go in there, I don't want to sleep, +5 Stamina" notifications) tied to a button, or something in the inventory menu as a visual indicator of Kel's cravings. A sort of "I would really go for some Shrimp right now" when the shrimp is back to the full hunger potential after dropping to like 30% of the original value. Another solution, albeit complicated to have the player eat various food items, would be to have some sort of nutrition system tied to the food groups related to the items. Like a banana is a fruit, fruits are known for healing cuts, so maybe your health regenerates slower if you haven't eaten a fruit in a while. Or how Shrimp is a protein, and protein is linked to strength, so you can carry more objects or heavier objects more easily. You could still order and eat endless MREs, but you might want a carrot every now and then to help see at night.
Really does boggle the mind when customizable/experimental options or menus are placed into a game and are then never utilized or filled out with more options.

Out of video memory. could not load textures
I cannot play the game for some reason even though i infact have enough ram/memory. does anyone know how to solve this?
Open your Task Manager and look at the VRAM and RAM usage.
My suspicion: You added too many high-res custom pictures to the appdata folder for Posters/Pictures etc.
You can easily overfill 8GB of VRAM that way and while loading, the game itself can even exceed 64 GB of system RAM.
I downloaded the game and did not edit anything
OKAY IM SCARED
is the bunker doors supposed to open on day 5? as far as i know those never open on normal gameplay, but here i am, on the inside, woke up with both set of doors open
WHAT?!
i dont think this is normal, i heard a noise when i was sleeping but there was nothing wron in the base, went out and saw this
It opens when you pull down the "Lights" switch.
Holy crap you're right, I swear that didn't work before. And considering how the doors work, the bunker stays open even when the lights get turned back on.
ooh... I think this is supposed to be an emergency backup shelter when theres a threat AND transformer failure. Convenient.
Hey my game isnt functioning properly the mathmini game does not work and the computer does not work it will not let me click on anything or even exit in the math minigame
Edit the pause menu ingame doesent work i cant click on any of the options
why do drawings fade over time, it makes taking time drawing things feel pointless
It seems like they only fade when you put the drawing in your inventory, still sucks but you can avoid making it fade
they faded no matter what i did, im going to avoid drawing until an update changes this
Any patch notes for the new update?
Supposedly it just adds a broom, mop, and mop bucket. I'm experiencing a graphical bug though so I'm sticking with 0.6.2aa for the time being.
hi was wondering how to play the game after downloading it
you need winrar/7zip to extract the file to play it. once you extract it, just open the .exe file
winrar download
7zip download
thank
i just got it thank yo
no problem! have fun
I haven't seen anyone document this signal before. Needless to say I wasn't expecting that.
no spoilors dude
i love the math minigames, its my favorite part of the game

Yes the music changed, there's new ambient music that sometimes plays.
As of update 0.6 the game runs noticeably worse while in the main room (it used to be a smooth 60 fps, now around 40). Survive 30 days in story mode to unlock sandbox.

1.u need to get to day 31 (0:00) 2.its literally says "Name your own price" near download button 3.yea true this game cool

4: adding the trash was a great idea, I love it
game's amazing, thanks for your work
i unironically love the garbage, makes me feel like i have something to do while killing the time
Where is the garbage can?
There's about 3 of them outside the garage on the wall to the right, by some rocks.
cleaner simulator, i spent the first 3 days trying to get rid of garbage complete
waiting for optimization updatae
Got stuck in a well with zero way to get out or respawn
numpad . key with numlock on
Ah! thank you very much!
Any way if you have no numpad?
Rebind in settings?
The new update gave us more LITERAL trash. Great.
this game LITERALLY trash. i love cleaning!

oh my godness bro, thank you. i dint even know that button was there lo
I see we have another 0.6.2 patch, what's different?
so far the streamer I'm watching test has found three new (oddly unnamed) items in the shop but hasn't noticed any other changes.
the 3 unnamed items in the store are the broom, mop, and mop bucket
probably was accidently left unnamed
Switch to the current (0.6.2b) version, it fixes an event that breaks the game.
which event broke the game?

Two reasons for music. Ambience, or cat.
If you hear music in the forest, run
WHAT DOES THIS MEAN?
WHAT DID YOU MEAN BY THAT?
I'm scared
I don't know how fishing works either. I assume I would need to find a fishing pole just like the shovel / metal detector (You find the shovel, you buy the metal detector, both are used together)

Why is the base so absolutely filthy?
Because your mom isn't cleaning up after you anymore. Time to get scrubbin', Dr. Kel.
That's what an education at MIT will get for you, right Gordon?
No! I'm with the science team! Why do we have to wear these ridiculous ties!?

still beats working the line at DMV
go explore or buy new food at the computer
no.
are you scared? It's safer than you think... just imagine they can't hurt you at day (they might hurt you at day(they might not hurt you at day))
i like the cleaning, sure it's more work, but it's not vital, just busy work while you wait on signals to process.
I mean, I might agree, the issue is the sheer volume.
Yah I understand wanting to encourage the player to order and eat different foods, but there's better ways to do it.
Really does boggle the mind when customizable/experimental options or menus are placed into a game and are then never utilized or filled out with more options.
please make a non 7zip file so i can download it.
