I just experienced the worst time of my life thanks to this game.

I am on the day 18th and the Bad Sun event was just starting but out of nowhere the rain started, to my surprise the sun does not harm you because it is cloudy. There was a transformer that was running out and taking advantage of the fact that the sun was not damaging me, I went outside to fix it. The environment looked strange due to the high brightness but I found it amazing but the amazement did not last long when I went back to the base. When I was going back, I began to hear strange noises and out of nowhere everything began to get dark, it was the black fog event. Imagine everything illuminated but at the same time everything dark and lost in the middle of the forest knowing that if the rain goes away, the sun kills you.

I have this black screen issue. I was going to adjust something on the options.. I was going to make it look good until when i put Effects on max slider. Then the black screen came up, any suggestions
If you can find the specific file associated with the settings you applied and delete it, it may reset to default settings and you'll get visuals again. Otherwise, you may need to browse all the folders with VotV data, delete them all and do a fresh install.
I'm having an issue on build 0.6.1_b with the radio where if I use a radio link, it shows up but never plays, and if I use the .mp3s it just says loading indefinitely. I am on windows 11 and I had no issue with custom pngs working for posters and paintings.
we have custom audio, video, pictures, decals, and even 3d models (by the way incredible job with the 3d printer if you're reading this), what customization will be next?

Anyways, sorry if this is a basic question (maybe I'm blind), but how do you upgrade the "Detector_Status" speed? Is it Detector Sensitivity, Quality or Frequency? My download speed is great so far (Download_Speed was self-explanatory), but the Detector_Status is always taking too long to finish (and screwing up my daily deliveries)... I haven't found any detailed explanations about the upgrades anywhere, so I've decided to give it a shot here.
Top tier indie game, top tier Vargskeletlor stream content. Fun to play, fun to watch others play. I recently found out about an easter egg that is a reference to a glitch/bug in Saints Row 2.... Love stuff like that. 👍

One tiny little suggestion, could you possibly make the '0' and the '8' more of a contrast to eachother in the server minigames? Too many times I've lost because they look so similar!
From videos, I've seen the game is good and I've tried downloading it, one small issue is that I can't run it (top fps is 10), I can tell you're actively optimizing the game, I've tried the oldest and newest version, I've noticed the fps gets better the further I go up in versions, so thank you for trying and good luck with development, I just hope some day I can play it myself.
Can someone tell me where to put the files for custom paintings and posters with the latest update? Older files had a folder for the paintings but I am not sure where I should put them in the latest update.
For some reason I get this bug where the GUI hitbox is lower than it should be, making it hard to navigate the pause screen and my inventory. Anyone got any idea?
I made the mistake of buying 1 Fuel, 3 Boxes and 46 Drives with an order, all that remained when it arrived were the boxes. Even stuff that was just laying around in the garage got destroyed by the explosion when it landed :I
Maybe make it so stuff doesn't get destroyed or exploded when it gets delivered, add a 5 second invincible status to them so it can be assured that everything lands and stops moving before becoming vulnerable.
You can use any resolution really, but it has to be saved as a .png (0.png, 3.png, 124.png) and also, the larger the pictures you use the more RAM and VRAM the game will need. So you're better off making sure everything stays below 700x700px. I once managed to get 64GB RAM and 8GB VRAM full and it still wasn't enough.
I recently learned a secret thing when I fell asleep in a well, Is it possible to get a knife and get out of that room? Or can the knife be found in other places? Thanks in advance for the answer :D
So I made the decision to use a save from version 0.6.0 (yes dumb idea, I know), and my save has appeared to be completely stable...except for the invisible Ariral. As soon as I accidently aggro it, my game performance gets absolutely booty-blasted with a stutter every second until it molly-whops me. However, performance returns to normal soon after, even if it's still in my vicinity and I see it walking away. Any suggestions for preventing this? Most of my render settings are already on low/off.
Freezes happen when NPC can't figure navigation to the player. So staying in inaccessible places will always give you micro-freezes, in exception of some scripted places like base's roof where NPCs programmed to walk in circles.
To prevent freezes, make your way to empty open area (road or something).
Thanks for the suggestion, I'm noticing less stutter after starting a new game, but it could be because I haven't aggroed him yet. Kerfus also sometimes tanks my performance while returning to base from repair, but I keep a solid 100 frames when he takes off to repair a server or as he follows me around. Really sporadic and spontaneous issue.
I found Maxwell and picked him up but now I can't get him out of my arms, whenever I try to place him somewhere it just says 'not enough room', is he forever stuck in my arms?
Mr. Doctor Nose, help me, I was playing sandbox and doing my own thing, then after I found the cheat menu in the bindings, I was so shocked, then I found the delete item button, and after that I came up with a brilliant idea to delete the DRONE, I deleted it, and after deleting I was given an error, a fatal error, and after re-logging into voices of the void, I saw ... THAT I CAN'T PLAY INFINITY SANDBOX AND STORY ONLY IN THE TUTORIAL, PLEASE HELP!!
I tried to download voices of the void and serovno I can only play the tutorial I tried to rummage through the files and found my saves and I couldn't go into them because I couldn't play story infinity and sandbox
Hey friends. In 0.6.1-b my assets folder for meshes and videos isn't showing up as anything in game. I have tried refresh assets, but I got nothing. Yes I have .obj and equally named .png in "meshes" and a .mp4 in the videos folder.
For anyone interested, I'm obsessed with this game and have been streaming it for ages. Here's part of my 0.6 playthrough.
You misspelled some words like "batteries", "another", "touches" and "english". But it actually has very valid sentence structure. I understood what you were saying. Keep it up man, you're doing great.
I feel that would diminish the appeal of the game personally. This game does a very good job of making you scare yourself more than anything, as opposed to relying on the cheap "scares" of spooky thing+loud noise. It displays a pretty developed sense of restraint from the developer and that should be highlighted!
Maybe not so much a literal jumpscare but an event. Everyone feels way too safe up there. Think of this being akin to hearing the garage door open & finding a mannequin standing inside your base for the first time. Or meeting Fridge while out of bounds. It makes the place feel a little less safe.
Ya know, I can get behind this. Def something that happens mid/later in the story mode. Like I don't think that the base should ever feel downright unsafe, players need an area to feel secure in otherwise they start to lose interest and focus (a certain [redacted] event not withstanding). I dare not speak this evil into the world due to my own personal fear/phobia but I am super surprised that there isn't an event that has to do with the big ass window at the front of the base.

Then you hear it again, still nothing, maaaaybe you catch a glimpse of something scuttling out of view. Now the developer could fall back on the rule of three but I think it would be much worse if it was a random chance to see whatever was tapping through the window. Like a stark white face, maybe just some big ass fingers, idk.
Is there any way I can do something about the graphics? my laptop can't run unreal engine, but I really want to play this game, you don't see abstract games like this, but the times you do, it's when you're young and you end up forgetting their name and can't find them, so please if you can help it'll be very helpful. (I get 2 fps even on the lowest resolution and graphics)
having a problem where whenever i call the drone the report form disappears from the box? its not just invisible its completely gone and im told i didnt do the report...
The report visually disappearing is normal. It's still there. I assume it's a safeguard against accidentally removing it or moving the box. If it says you didn't do the report you then either got it wrong or didn't use the report format.

Both sensitivity and frequency, quality is purely cosmetic and makes the image for signal more clear/higher resolution.

They are very distinguishable, the 8 has very clear indents while the 0 is almost like a square with rounded edges.

Update on the game
I went on story mode, and while trying to get a signal on the machine thing:
The signal dissapeared as soon as I pressed enter around 6 times
It had a sensor error around 4 times
And randomly just didn't feel like it
10/10, this game loves me (and so does my luck)

iirc the ingame help menu tells you where to put them, but the files go into C:/Users/(you)/AppData/Local/VotV/Assets
The AppData folder is hidden by default on windows, so if it's not there go to 'View' at the top and check 'Hidden items'

Did you make a story save? You don't need to do anything to play story mode, it's unlocked no matter what.

After getting the 'launch tutorial level' achievement you have to apply settings while in the tutorial

Either Alt-leftclick to throw or C to ragdoll to drop him.
You can also alt+r to drop him.
Maxwell loves you. Why would you want to put him down? You don't need anything in life other than Maxwell.

I'm pretty sure this is a troll post? But if not, why did you delete something integral to the game? Reinstall. Thats all you can do.
Either that or they did something else they're not mentioning. I tried to delete the border wall, got a crash, and rebooted just fine.

On the "Render" tab in Setting, put everything to 0 or 1 and Screen Resolution to "50%" or "25%".
On the "Video" tab put "Sun Rays" to 0 or 1.
On the "Game" tab put "Max roaches" to 1 or 25.
